Jesus' Weapon of Choice

My strength is in the Lord and in Him I am strong
He has given me the whole armor of God to put on
You have given me everything I need to fight
To defend and stand against the schemes of the enemy
I am fully equipped for the battle that rages on
My heart is sealed by Your blood and you have saved me
The enemy has no say because God I am Your child
You give the power to stand against the evil one
So that I can stand firm when he attacks me
I put on the belt of truth to know my identity in Christ
To know the truth about everything that I am
The breast plate of righteousness to protect my heart
To not allow the enemy a foothold in my soul
I put on the shoes of readiness given by the gospel of peace
They are peace that comes from the Good News
With these shoes I am fully prepared and equipped
I place on my head the helmet of salvation
Because I have been saved by faith and it was a gift
I can not boast about my salvation because it was all God
In my right hand I hold on to the sword of the Spirit
The Lord has given me His Holy Word as my weapon
If Scripture was Jesus' weapon of choice it will be mine too
May prayers always be on my lips constant and often
Help me stay alert with persistent in my prayers for all believers
