Greatest Treasure

Lord Your Word is the greatest treasure

It’s mystery unfolds on every page

And every time I read it I learn new things 

I learn about Your never ending faithfulness 

With every promise made and kept

From the beginning of the creation of the world

To the end of all times found in Revelation

You reveal the true depths of who You are

And show such love, grace and faithfulness

What a beautiful story of redemption

You remind me with every word of Scripture

That You are a God of order not chaos

And that everything has a plan and purpose

Even though things look bleak at times

You intervene on behalf of Your servants

And strengthen them in their weakness

You deliver them from their struggles

Even the ones that brought upon themselves

I see my own struggles played out on the pages

And I am reminded of my lacking in trust

Forgive me Father and teach me to be still

You are the God of it all and I want Your will

Let me be a vessel to carry Your message

And to pour out you on the thirsty world

As I read Your Word let it soak deep within me

That even when I am squeezed in a corner

All that will be seen and heard is You

And this treasure that You’ve given us

May it never part from my mouth 

But maybe I never stop rejoicing and praising

For You are the God of all time present past and future

You never change and You never will 

Your promises stand forever and ever

And I will stand upon Your faithfulness 

I rejoice in your word like one who discovers a great treasure. Psalms 119:162
