Wounded and Beaten

Lord I lay down my wounded and beaten heart

It’s barely beating but I believe that You’re in control

You give me the strength to just breathe

I am still and I know that You are God

As I lay here I trust that Your will is better

I am in desperate need of You right now

Forgive me for my lack of constant desperation

Cuz I can’t take a step or breathe a single breath

Without You and apart from You I can’t do anything

Crying out for You in my pain and suffering

Everything is for Your glory and for Your will

I surrender my pride and humbly lay me down

My pain doesn’t change the goodness of You

Nothing at all can separate me from You

If scars is what it takes to soften my heart

Lord I pray Your will be done in my life

How many times do I let the sufferings hold me down

I surrender to the things I need to go through

Cuz I know that I am renew thruuough the fire

So if You need to burn off my own will

I will gladly do what needs to be done

So that Your will may be accomplished
