I Want to Yearn

I want to yearn for you with all the passion in my heart
To never stop chasing after the One holding me close
Cuz You are the only thing worth running after
And the One that I can never get enough of
Every moment spent with You is better than the last
Excitement fills my soul as I enter into another minute with You
I feel so empty when You’re not in the center of it all
Cuz every good and perfect gift comes from You
I desire You more than the next breath I need
Crave you more than my heart needs to beat
My thirst is only quench by a moment in Your presence
My hunger satisfied by meditating on Your Word
I starve my sinful desires and want more of You
Want to radiate from the inside out of Your goodness
To show the world that I am set apart from it
That I am different from the others who live here
And this is just a temporary condition of my heart
For it belongs seated next to You up in heaven
And that You will call me home soon I don’t belong here
Your presence continues to call me back to You
Cuz I find peace and green pastures in Your arms
Where else would I want to be
Where else would I want to go
No place I’d rather be than right here in Your presence
