Cleanse Me

Lord when I spend time in Your presence

Do I actually listen to what You have to say

Do I care to hear from the one above

Or do I just spend the whole time talking

And do I never sit in silence with You

Here I am just spewing words out of my mouth

Instead of humbly silencing myself before You

Quiet my heart so that I may receive from You

You have so much for me if I would just listen

Teach me to have a meek and receptive heart

To shut me up so I may receive from You

Silence the voices in my head so I can hear

I want to sit at Your feet and receive

Close the door of my motor mouth

And allow me to humble myself before You

I lay all of me before Your throne

Teach me Your ways cleanse me within

This life is a vessel for You to use
