Rescue Mission

You were on a rescue mission for my heart

You didn't stop till you had me in Your arms

Broke through my own stubbornness and pain

Gave me a new life new identity new name

Brought me close to You and into Your family

Healed my wounds and the scars all over me

Comforted me and You nursed me back to life

Carried me out the darkness, into Your light 

Opened my eyes to see beyond what lied below

Planted me in Your garden so that I could grow

Watered me with love; showered me with grace

Brushed off the dirt; wipe the tears from my face

You redeemed that which I thought was lost

Bought me with Your blood what a heavy cost

Died in my place before I even knew You

Then went on a mission of my heart to rescue

Came to save me from the sins I made 

Amazed that I was even chosen to be saved

But here I now held in the shadow of Your wings

On this journey with You for all of eternity
