A Forest of Likes

A blanket of stars covers the night sky More than anyone could ever count Everywhere you look there’s stars The Milky Way painted on the darkness What beauty lights the night With one word You breathed the sky But You know every single star And You call them each by name If You know every star by name How much more do you know me All of a sudden the stars emerge From behind the darkness of night Twinkling and sparkling all around Can’t look away cuz it draws me in 

I know that I am undeserving Far from ever being perfect I know that You forgive me And I never could earn it But in my undeserving You give And break through my selfishness So here I am knees to floor Want You more and more Cry out in desperation For the God of all creation  I want you more than breath More than anything else Cuz You know me and still You love more than I ever will I know I could never understand But I know You have a plan I’m trusting in Your control With all my heart and soul 

Hands lifted up to the King of kings Here’s my heart I give You everything Take my life use it for Your glory Show me Lord the path before me I give up my rights I lay down my pride To see Your kingdom To give You praise I give up control And I’m letting go So have Your way Have Your way in me Here I am I’m on my knees Here I am to worship the King Use me Lord to honor You I’ll be Your light to shine for You You’re amazing King Jesus Somehow You chose me To be Your child your own You’re seated in the throne r oom 

Do you know that You have a Father who loves you He created everything that you see in this earth Think about the vastness of the world and its wonders The mountains and the valleys and the oceans The unique characteristics that each animal has The intricacies of the human body and its functions How some have different color hair and others freckles The intellect and creativity and special gifts we have And how no two people are exactly the same The beauty of a sunrise and a sunset every day He created and designed all of that with just words Do you know that He set His only Son to die for you That He loves You enough to send Him to take your place Our sin hindered us from ever being in His presence But Jesus conquered both sin and death So that we could live with Him for eternity He offers grace and mercy when we are far from deserving Offers a love that has no conditions or boundaries Wants us to know Him on an intimate level And pursue His ...

You see beauty where I see none Chose me when I wasn’t worth it Captured my heart when I was undone Rescued me from all I’d done Open my eyes to see What You see in me Open my heart to receive What You have for me Cuz face to face is where We will be one day You call me Yours when I feel shame And tell me You erased all of it You tell me You love me by name I am home and will never cry again

Dirty hands and outstretched arms Brokenness and ringing alarms We cry out for help from You Daddy In Your love You rescue and save me So that I never forget what You’ve done And the sacrifice of Your Son Tattooed Your promises here On my heart so it’s always near So I lift my hands to the sky And remind myself that I  Am nothing apart from You I am set free by Your truth No longer a slave anymore But it’s only You I adore Messy life and empty heart Loneliness that broke me apart But You were never too far away Came before any word I could say  So I am thankful for You running After me and my heart I’m coming  Back to my very first love that’s You And bowing my life all glory to You

Intoxicating joy is just a prayer away Unconditional love is only right here Perfect peace is only found in Him Grace and mercy in You they abound I am never too far gone To not receive Your love I’m never too far gone That You can’t come You’re pursuing me and You want me You’re after my heart and You’re running Cuz You desire me and want what’s best To trust You and let You figure out the rest
