A Forest of Likes

Such sweet victory You have given us No longer trapped by our sinful mess You have rescued Your children from despair Gave us strength in our weakness there Drove out the lies and fear which held us Released us from the enemy’s grasp Lifted our heads and pulled us out of the clay So that glory may be given to Your name You saved us when we thought we were gone All hope seemed lost nowhere to call home Trapped in the depths of sin and grave Until You called us out when You came Washed my wicked heart clean as can be Broke off my chains and I was set free The end of the story is already written Your victory is known it is not hidden Lord sweet freedom You’ve given to me May my life praise You now through eternity 

Here I am with face to the floor Confessing that I desperately need You I thought I could hide my sin But You shone light on the darkness Exposed the things that I hid Forgive me for my pride Humbly I lay me at Your feet I know that I am far from deserving Yet You pour out Your blessings Words fall short to thank You But I will never stop worshipping And never stop singing praises I choose to humble before You Crucify my pride on the cross Purify my heart for Your service So I simply come before You For I bring nothing of power But You empower me anyway You can use nothing for something

You ride alongside me on the highway And sit beside me when I'm in class You hear the thoughts running in my head You're near to me as I sit in traffic You never leave me I'm not doing this alone You hold my hand and help me carry on God I am never alone Never out of Your hand You are never gone I am a part of Your plan You run beside me as I run this race Comfort me as tears pierce my face You lay next to me as I dream dreams Laugh with me until I can't breathe

You never leave me by myself Never once have I been alone You love me like nobody else Because Jesus with You I am home Hold me close to Your heart Never ever been apart Closer than my breath Trust You with what's next You know me better than I do Love me despite my lacking Thank You for always being near Let my life be worship to You

Too often I have doubted your love And forget that You're so good Fear has clouded my eyes And I let it live in my heart No more no longer Hands raised in surrender Lord cut to the heart of it All the way down to the root And remove the blinders Let me see You have me Remove of the root of it all And allow your sweet victory I keep watering my fear And allowing it to grow Giving it power over me But its time to let it go

If I let myself I could drown in the thoughts of my mind If I let myself I’d only pay attention to the needs that are mine If I let myself I could keep myself the center of attention If I let myself I could let my pride lead me to my destination But You exposed my pride to Your light You showed me I have nothing to stand on and climb  Cuz nothing I have done I’ve done myself I can’t do anything without Your help Showed me that it’s not about me in any way This life is a gift I shouldn’t squander away I was destined for death but You gave me life Help me humble myself let go of my pride  Cuz I desperately need You can’t do this alone Lay my face to the foot of Your throne Use me as a vessel of Your glory Let them see You and never me Remind me that I so undeserving But that Your death it saved me So I no longer am the center of it all Cuz I am a servant I humbly fall At the feet of the King here to serve And Lord You give me more th...

How is it God that You deem us Your children and holy How can it be that You Crown us with glory and honor We are but mere mortals Created beings of Your hand Yet You deem us worthy You put us in charge of Your earth And gave us the authority of it Who are we that we should be chosen And yet here we are placed in charge Helps us not to let the power go to our heads But keep us humble as we oversee Your land The intricacies of Your handiwork displayed Help us to govern this place to Your glory

I am set apart for the Lord A dedicated vessel for Him Surrendered to bring glory Purify me inside and out That my guilt will be erased The stain of sin removed So that I may be worthy To live a life of honor One that brings You fame Where people turn their eyes To the God who created them Who saved them from their sin With the life of His only Son Break down my hardened parts That I may be a moldable piece To be used for kingdom work

I trust You with the pieces of my shattered heart That You will put them back together bit by bit Better than I could ever try to do on my own Cuz You strengthen me in my weakness Lift me up when I am face to the floor Wipe my tears when i cant raise my arms You comfort me with an unimaginable peace You tend to my brokenness like a doctor Bandaging up the hurts and pains I have And there will be scars but I like them Those are pen marks for Your story for me Reminders of your faithfulness and love Pain free life was never promised to me And I daily ask to look more like You Sometimes that requires refining through flames Which leaves marks but I come out the other side Looking more like my King than my own pride Which is the desire of my heart to look like I surrender to Your will whatever it may be Cuz You O Lord are everything that I need

You count the hairs on my head And every single beat of my heart How many breaths I have breathed Number of thoughts in my brain So how can I not worship You How can I keep myself still When Your glory is seen And the praise belongs to You Every moment I am awake It is a time to honor You With every breath I breathe And every step that I take Cuz You're worthy of it all You count the stars in the sky The number of pieces of sand You know us each by name Everything is by Your design
