A Forest of Likes

  I am known and loved by the King of kings He knows my name and He loves my heart He calls me His daughter and invites me To be a part of bringing His kingdom on earth I am an ambassador for the kingdom of God My life is an example of what God can do He can take a broken mess of a person And breathe life into those broken lungs Restore and clean up the mess and use it To share my story my path and my journey So that others will see the goodness of God And see that life doesn’t have to stay broken Life will always be messy but there’s hope now There’s a bright future ahead for each of us Regardless of the circumstances or decisions Our past doesn’t define us but it shows growth From dead to life from broken to restored From faithless to faithful from hopeless to hopeful Our Father wants your heart and to use your life He wants you and He is pursuing your heart But our sin nature and our desire for selfishness Keeps us from becoming His children But God in His great mercy and love for u

  Unimaginable Lord your purpose of coming to this earth was to suffer To take our place and to conquer sin and death You healed the sick and made the blind to see Spoke of the Father and our desperate need for Him Lame men were made to walk; blind men could see Children you made well; bleeding You stopped You showed compassion and love on the outcasts Spent time with sinners like us and loved on us You knew that Your time here would be short You came and died conquered sin and death  You did the unimaginable for the people of this world Died in their place to give them an opportunity  To know their God and Creator their Savior Such grace and mercy You pour out over us How often we take You Lord for granted Forgive us Lord for our forgetfulness and pride Forgive us for our ignorance and selfish  We need You Lord Jesus You and only You Thank You for the cross and taking my place Thank You for defeating sin and death So that I can be a daughter of the King

  Thanksgiving So many things to be thankful for This year tried to steal our thanksgiving  But our thanks isn’t dependent on life Regardless of the status of every day We have a million reasons to be thankful God is on the throne and in control We are never alone because He’s with us We’ve been given a new day with sunshine We have the hope of heaven one day Gods faithfulness has never failed and won’t His love is endless and unconditional New songs to sing of the Lords goodness We are alive and we are still here There’s breath in our lungs And there’s a beat in our chest Arms and legs that help us to move A brain to help us think and navigate  I am thankful for a husband who loves me well I am thankful for family their love and support For friends who are understanding and kind For time to spend with the ones we love For a career that allows me to do what I love This list could go on and on forever and ever But my friends please remember this Thanksgiving is not just a one day holida

  A Harvest of Good Deeds Adams sin brought condemnation But Jesus’ death and resurrection brought new life It brought a relationship with the Most High God Just as we died with Christ Our old nature crucified And buried with Him We have been raised to life through His resurrection And must live our lives as new creatures Radically changed by our Savior King Jesus Death lost its grip on us When we accept God’s free gift of salvation Sin no longer reigns in our lives Because it’s power was crucified and buried It doesn’t control you So don’t continue living like it does We are to be used as instruments For the glory and purposes of God Our lives should share the freedom That God’s incredible grace gives us Obey His commands only Not your fleshly sinful desires Live righteously because You are no longer slaves to sin What an amazing free gift that salvation is We can dance and move And breath in this freedom Hallelujah to the God Who made us and saves us The God who gives so freely And c

  Good morning to the King of kings Hello to the Lord of lords my Savior I am waking up to lay down myself At Your feet do what You want in me I surrender my thoughts and plans I want all that You have in store for me Nothing about this life is mine to hold It was a gift and one I do not take lightly But my life was bought and purchased I take no blessing from You lightly Because I know I am undeserving  But the beauty is You bless anyway You wake me up to mercies each morning  And bless me in ways that leave me speechless You remind me every day of Your immense love It’s hard to fathom an unconditional love But that’s the love You pour out over me  Speechless because I know my wickedness I know my motives aren’t pure or selfless But You want what’s best for me anyway

  Lord we come before You And lay our fears at at the foot of the cross We pray for wisdom and courage to face the day Whether we are home safely with our families Or at work taking care of other’s families We know that we need Your strength Give us eyes to see other people’s needs And help us to bring hope to the hopeless Let our hands be healing hands And let our hearts be caring hearts We pray that You would hold us tightly in Your arms Lord protect each of us from head to toe May we love well and serve well Keep our eyes focused on You And help us bring Your kingdom here on earth In Jesus name Amen  @aforestoflikes

  Lord You hold us in Your tender arms And give us rest and in peace. In our moments of loneliness and sickness You lay right next to us holding our hand You wrap us up in Your arms So we are never alone In uncertainty and diversity We cling to You our Father We pray for our our nation to turn from its sin To seek You in its moments of uncertainty We pray miraculous healing over our land Rain peace over this world And bring revival to its streets We know that You can do all things We come before You and pray Pray for restoration of our Godly roots Remembrance of You as our leader Seeking You for guidance in all things Honoring You as Lord and King Help us to remember why our ancestors came Help us to cry out to You And turn our nation back to You To the God on which we built this nation In Jesus name Amen

  In the deepest of pains In the darkest of nights In the sorrows that just won’t stop When I struggle to take another step I hear You whisper don’t give up yet You remind me that I am not alone Though this journey may take me far from home My King and my God you’re with me  Through it all you were closer than my breath All I have to do is call And you come running I’m never too far gone I’m never too lost either You know me by name You breathe into my pain And surround me with peace In the fiercest of storms You bring me such hope When I can barely stand on my own You remind me that you are on the throne And I am never too far gone @aforestoflikes

  I lay all of me at your feet I surrender to all You are I give everything that I am Every part of me belongs to You All that I am is here to worship Father God all I am is Yours Use me for all that You need Teach me to walk in Your truths So that all can see You in me See what You’re doing in me And they can know You God That the God above loves them so Use me as vessel to pour out love to others Empty the things that are me And fill me with all that You are May I represent and present You well Because I am a living sacrifice You have given me new life A life I do not take for granted But ever breath in my lungs is for You Every heart beat echoes for Your glory 

  Lord your presence is essential to life And I can’t walk this journey without You Because I need you each mile each step each moment I am desperately in need of your presence My day can’t happen without you in it I want to glorify you with every minute Every day is a gift from You O Lord May I never forget that truth Every breath isn’t promised Every heart beat isn’t guaranteed So let every breath and beat be for You  All that I am praise the maker of the world Let every word and thought motive and action Bring glory to the God who made it all Who calls me chosen and His own Breathed life into my dry bones Gave me a second chance to live When death should have been my ending Pours out love when I am so far from deserving Never leaves me to journey this life alone But walks side by side and hand in hand with me  @aforestoflikes

  I’m a Sheep Lord I know why you call us sheep We like to wander off on our own Wanting to go left instead of right We try to find freedom apart from You Dumb and stupid because freedom is in You Forgive us wandering sheep We are so easily distracted Shiny things draw our attention So we walk in the wrong direction Then saying where are You God I can’t feel Your affection But in our wanderings You call out Calling us each by our own name You chase us until we are found Correct us so we won’t wander again Carry us back to fold of Your people Thank You for Your relentless pursuit And for never ever giving up on us Even though anybody else would have You pour out Your grace and mercy On pathetic self-centered sheep like us   @aforestoflikes

  I want to hunt for knowledge of You God More importantly I want to experience You Intimately uniquely have relationship with You Although I will never fully understand You I will never stop seeking and searching Desiring to have my eyes and heart opened Wanting more of You and none of me Searching for the things Your heart is after Needing You just to take my next breath Seeking after Your ways and Your thoughts Wash over my mind and cleanse it from within So that the things of this world dissipate  And I am left with the only thing that matters Which is You and You alone O Father God I want You and only You nothing else matters I want to know You intimately and personally Link our hearts so that I can reflect You I am a chosen ambassador for You Lord Help me to know You and share You always Give me courage to stand confidence to speak Knowledge of Your Word, Your will, Your ways To point others to the One their hearts are missing You who loves them and desires to know them Help me t

  My prayers for years have been safety prayers Safety for the ride home and blessings over my food Rarely take the time to sit still just be there I want to pray with complete transparency Pray dangerously for actual changes in my life To let You actually do what You want with me I want to be a prayer warrior and pray right Desiring every prayer to have purpose for You Let there be power behind the words that I speak And for me to be a vessel worthy for You to use I know that I wasn’t born to be timid or weak I have resurrection power flowing through me I want my prayers to be a charge for change I humble myself before Your throne of peace Pray for mountains to be moved chains to break For a world that is running after You alone That brings Your heavenly kingdom down here And all glory and honor be to Your throne May we radiate the truth of Your mercy and grace Kneel before the King and give you the praise Drawing the world back to Your glorious name Until we meet You one day face to

  Seeds Where’s the seeds of God’s Word planted in you Do you have deep roots in King Jesus Where you watered it and gave it sunshine Or did you plant your roots in the shallows Only to whither when things got too hot Did you just toss the God’s Word in front of you Only to allow the enemy to snatch your seeds So they never had time to grow or flourish Did you plant yourself in good solid soil Or where the thorns surrounded your seeds Until they choked the very life out of you Did you allow others to choked Jesus out of you My friend you’ll never grow if you don’t plant right You need good and fertile soil in order to grow A true investment and commitment to Christ That doesn’t waver when things get hard But it firmly planted and deeply rooted in Him Because storms will come and winds will blow But a firm foundation in the Lord will not be moved 

  Floodlight You call us to shine for You and Your glory You tell us to have no dark corners in our hearts So that our lives will be radiant and bright Like a floodlight pouring out of us to others Show me what in me is not of You Guide me in the ways You want me to Help me to seek You Lord in all I do So my light and life shine bright for You Let Your light radiate out of my heart Show the world and pierce the dark King Jesus reigns on high forever Lift up your praise to God Almighty You call us out of the darkness And call us into Your glorious presence Claimed us as Your own Your children Gave us Your light to shine for all to see

  Face to Face Teach me to pray like Jesus prayed Jesus lifted His eyes when He prayed to You He looked You His Father face to face He spoke to You with power and knowledge  When I pray to You O Father I want to look You in the eyes And pray with that same power Knowing You can do all things To pray to have Your heart for others Show me how to love well Teach me how to be kind Direct me in Your truths And lead me down Your path Can’t wait for the day When we’re face to face Call me home by name Until then have Your way

  One Word It only takes one word from You to change it all The wind and the waves stop raging The storm turns from chaos to calm Powerful are You my Lord and my God You hold the world in Your hands You have what’s best for us in Your plans So You calm the ocean and push back the clouds And then You ask me where is my faith Oh me of such little faith I looked at the storm Instead of the face of my King Jesus Help me Lord to keep my focus on You This life has enough worries of its own Help me to reach for You in all things When distractions try to pull me away All I need is all of You all of You King Jesus
